Inclusive Web App Transforms Museum Experience in Veneto

digital · 2026-04-26

Venetian institutions such as Scuola Grande di San Rocco, Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, and Villa Foscari La Malcontenta in Mira have embraced a new web application designed to improve museum experiences. This initiative, backed by Lineadacqua and MyMuseum, aims to enhance accessibility for all visitors, including those with visual impairments. Collaboratively developed with Aniridia Italiana APS and the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Venice, the app includes features like screen reader support and a high-contrast interface. Endorsed by the Regional Council of Veneto, the project seeks to elevate audioguides into vital tools for emotional connection, receiving funding from a Pnrr grant in line with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights' cultural participation rights.
