InciteResearch: Multi-Agent Framework for Pre-Question Scientific Ideation

Researchers have introduced InciteResearch, a multi-agent framework designed to assist scientists in the earliest stages of research, before a clear question is formulated. The system uses Socratic questioning to elicit a structured five-dimensional researcher profile from vague or domain-unrelated inputs, then violates hidden assumptions by maximizing a feasibility-novelty product and enforcing a 7-stage causal derivation trace. It also checks whether the proposed method is a necessary consequence. The framework aims to make implicit understanding explicit, inspectable, and actionable, addressing the tacit friction that often precedes explicit research questions.
