Inaugural Kingdom Photography Award Winners Exhibited at Hayy Jameel

The inaugural Kingdom Photography Award was introduced by the Visual Arts Commission, featuring an exhibition of nominees and grant recipients at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah from December 9 to 11, 2022. This annual contest highlights the diverse regions of Saudi Arabia, particularly Al Wajh in Tabuk Province. Photographers in the early and mid-stages of their careers presented works that captured their unique viewpoints. A jury, chaired by Dina Amin and including Daniel Beltra, Zein Khalifa, Abdullah K AlTurki, and Moath Alofi, evaluated the submissions. The award encompassed a Professional Grant and a Discovery Competition, with categories for urban environments, underwater scenes, and nature. Winners Nyree Cox, Alex Dawson, and Andrea Dina Alkalay were awarded USD 30,000 and equipment vouchers, while Discovery winners received approximately USD 5,500. The exhibition displayed a variety of photographic themes.
