In Wonder(Is)land: Open-Air Immersive Installations on Isola del Garda
Until August 16, the open-air exhibition In Wonder(Is)land is taking place on Isola del Garda, inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The show features nine maxi-installations, eight by artist Vera Uberti, who also serves as Art Director, and one, Open My Glade, by video artist Pipilotti Rist (born 1962 in Grabs, Switzerland). To reach Villa Cavazza, home of the Mai Museum, visitors depart from Porto di San Felice del Benaco (Brescia) at 8 PM. The boat ride takes less than 20 minutes to the island, where the metaphorical mirror of Alice is crossed. Vera Uberti (born 1964 in Brazil), founder of Mai Museum, explores technology and digital media to immerse viewers in artistic creation, surrounding them with light, colors, optical illusions, and perceptual tricks including blue and smoky circles, long luminous vines hanging from trees, and a tangled path of strange fluorescent geometric inflorescences.
