In-Box Theatre Network Announces 12 Finalists for 2020-2021 Season

The Italian theatre network In-Box, founded in Siena in 2009 by Straligut Teatro, has selected 12 finalists for its 2020 edition despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The project, which addresses the endemic distribution problem in Italian theatre, unites 79 partners across two national networks including prestigious festivals, off spaces, small companies, municipal theatres, and regional circuits. The finalists—six from the main In-Box call and six from In-Box Verde for younger audiences—will be announced on May 23 via live streaming, with 87 performances up for grabs among network members. Selections continued using Sonar, a digital platform hosting 3,800 shows, 2,900 companies, and 730 operators. Finalist shows include Che forma hanno le nuvole by Elea Teatro, Volumi by QB Quanto Basta, Stay Hungry by Angelo Campolo (DAF – Teatro dell’Esatta Fantasia), LIBYA. Back home by La Ballata dei Lenna, Non plus ultras by Coop Argot ARL, and Tropicana by Frigoproduzioni. Past winners include Lino Musella, who won the UBU Prize in 2019.
