In Between Art Film Foundation Launches with Penumbra at Venice Biennale 2022
Founded in 2019 by Beatrice Bulgari, the In Between Art Film Foundation is set to unveil its first exhibition, Penumbra, at the 59th Venice Biennale, commencing on April 20, 2022. This exhibition, curated by Alessandro Rabottini and Leonardo Bigazzi, showcases eight video installations from artists Karimah Ashadu, Jonathas de Andrade, Aziz Hazara, He Xiangyu, Masbedo, James Richards, Emilija Škarnulytė, and Ana Vaz, all centered around the theme of the 'grey zone.' The historical venue, Ospedaletto, constructed in 1517, has seen contributions from notable figures like Baldassare Longhena and Giambattista Tiepolo, with design by Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli and studio 2050+. Bulgari highlighted Venice's distinctiveness and the Biennale's global platform for this debut exhibition.
