IN/Arch per Roma launches project to revive historic consular roads

architecture-design · 2026-04-26

IN/Arch per Roma has introduced 'Roma Consolari', a scheme designed to rejuvenate Rome's historic consular roads. This initiative was showcased at the 'Città nel futuro 2030-2050' conference held from October 7-9, 2025. The project, overseen by curators Pino Pasquali, Mosè Ricci, Susanna Tradati, Beatrice Fumarola, and Massimo Locci, seeks to leverage these roads for urban transformation, promoting sustainable mobility and enhancing the dialogue between the city and its landscape. Walter Tocci supported the project while criticizing the urban sprawl of the 20th century. Plans include tree-lined avenues, pedestrian areas, and cycling paths. IN/Arch per Roma will launch a program in 2026, aiming for execution between 2027-2030, with a vision extending to 2050, in line with Laboratorio Roma 050 and the 'Call for Ideas' by Fondazione ROMA REgeneration ET.
