Ilya Sutskever’s SSI Partners with Nvidia for AI Compute

Safe Superintelligence (SSI), founded by Ilya Sutskever, one of OpenAI's co-founders, has announced a major long-term partnership with Nvidia. This deal, which involves a significant undisclosed investment, will allow SSI to tap into Nvidia’s Vera Rubin GPU platform, boosting their computational power. According to TechCrunch, Nvidia's investment is in the billions. SSI has raised $7 billion so far and is valued at $32 billion, backed by firms like Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital. After working quietly for two years, SSI has made impressive research strides. Sutskever stated that access to Nvidia's technology will help scale their research. They also plan to collaborate on enhancing Nvidia's computing platforms while focusing on developing safe superintelligence without launching commercial products.
