illycaffé sponsors Quadriennale di Roma with €20,000 prize for under-35 artists

The 16th Quadriennale di Roma is set to take place at Palazzo delle Esposizioni from October 13, 2016, to January 8, 2017, after an eight-year hiatus, with illycaffé as a sponsor. The coffee brand has introduced the Premio illy Under 35, a €20,000 grant that will be awarded on October 28 to a young artist showcasing "particular expressive freshness in contemporary Italian trends." This amount is double the previously announced €10,000 for the youth prize, aligning it with the Premio Quadriennale '16, which encompasses all 99 artists on display. An international jury, including Ferran Barenblit, Volker W. Feierabend, Susanne Pfeffer, and Carlo Bach, will select the recipient. illycaffé has a history of supporting emerging artists, including the Premio illy Present Future at Artissima since 2001 and the €15,000 Premio illy SustainArt at ARCO Madrid for nine years.
