Il Velo: The Veil as Artistic and Conceptual Motif at Il Filatoio, Caraglio

The exhibition "Il Velo" at Il Filatoio in Caraglio, Italy, from October 28, 2007, to February 24, 2008, explores the veil as a plastic material and a conceptual field. Housed in a 17th-century silk mill, the venue has been an exhibition space for the CeSAC (Experimental Center for Contemporary Art) since 2001, directed by Andrea Busto under the cultural association Marcovaldo led by Fabrizio Pellegrino. The show brings together transhistorical and international works, including a Dürer engraving of Veronica, a 1989 canvas by Mimmo Paladino, an anonymous 17th-century watercolor, and a photograph of the "Holy Virgin" by Pierre et Gilles.
