Il Ponte's November 2021 Auctions: Modern and Contemporary Highlights

Il Ponte Casa d'Aste will hold online auctions for its November 2021 session, with a preview exhibition from November 26 to 28. The main sale takes place on November 30 and December 1, 2021. Freddy Battino, head of the modern and contemporary department, guided a preview of the catalog, which features works from private collections with strong provenance. Highlights include Fortunato Depero's "Ballerina" (1917, estimate €30,000-50,000), Giorgio de Chirico's "Il giorno e la notte" (1926, €60,000-80,000), Cagnaccio di San Pietro's "Nudo in riva al mare / La rosa del mare" (1935, €60,000-80,000), Gino Severini's "Autoritratto" (1907-1908, €150,000-200,000), Alberto Burri's "Combustione" (1957, €100,000-150,000), Lucio Fontana's "Natura" in bronze (€35,000-50,000) and two polychrome ceramics "Pagliacci" (€40,000-50,000 each), and the top lot: Piero Manzoni's "Achrome" (ca. 1962, €350,000-500,000), one of only 13 known examples made with bread rolls. Other artists include Sironi, Carrà, De Pisis, Boccioni, Licini, Tancredi, Fautrier, Dorazio, Boetti, Schifano, Pascali, Rotella, Festa, Klee, van Velde, Nicholson, Léger, Atchugarry, Consagra, Pomodoro, Melotti, Ontani, and Scarpitta. The December 1 sale adds over 200 lots.
