Il Ponte's Milan auction features Burri, Balla, Hartung top lots

Il Ponte Casa d’Aste in Milan will hold its Modern and Contemporary Art auction on November 29-30, 2022. The sale spans Italian early 20th-century works, Futurism, Art Informel, Concrete Art, Italian Pop Art, and Conceptual Art, with pieces from prominent collections including Jucker. Top lots include Alberto Burri's Combustione plastica (1961, estimate €250,000-350,000), Giacomo Balla's Linea di velocità + luce (1925, estimate €150,000-200,000), and Hans Hartung's oil on canvas from 1952 (same estimate), formerly with Galerie Beyeler and exhibited at Kunsthalle Bern. Other highlights: Josef Albers' Homage to the Square (1964, estimate €100,000-150,000), Carla Accardi's Violarosso (1963, estimate €100,000-150,000, shown at 1993 Venice Biennale), Piero Manzoni's Linea m. 4,89 (1959, estimate €80,000-120,000). Six works by Alighiero Boetti come from a collector who bought them directly from the artist. From the Magda and Riccardo Jucker collection: a Joan Miró gouache (estimate €35,000-50,000) and an Amedeo Modigliani drawing from circa 1914 (estimate €30,000-50,000).
