Il Ponte's Design and Decorative Arts Auction Totals €750,000 in First Half of 2022

Il Ponte auction house closed the first half of 2022 with €750,000 in sales, following its June 23–24 auction of 20th-century decorative arts and design. The sale featured international participation from the US, China, Mexico, Belgium, Netherlands, France, UK, and Germany, with lots from prestigious private collections. Top lots included Yoichi Ohira's Murano glass vases: a cobalt blue vase with star murrine in lattimo (€32,500), a vase with crystal, green, red, black, and blue murrine inserts (€20,000), and a pumpkin-shaped vase with vertical lattimo and opaque red canes with large red and bordeaux murrine (€16,250). A resin cube by Enzo Mari sold for €16,250, a record for that series. Max Ingrand's elliptical mirror model 1608 with crystal prism frame (1950s) fetched €12,500. A selection of Murano glass by Carlo Scarpa, Ercole Barovier, Fulvio Bianconi, Flavio Poli, and Paolo Venini also sold. Scarpa's Cornaro sofa (1973) went for €8,750, as did Mario Ceroli's table inspired by the Compass Rose. Flavio Poli's vases reached €8,125. A Venini mirror sold for €6,875, Gaetano Pesce's Tramonto a New York sofa for €4,750, and Andrea Branzi's Century chaise longue for €3,800.
