Il Ponte Casa d'Aste closed 2021 with total hammer prices exceeding €38.5 million (€38,583,925 including buyer's premium), a 220% increase over reserve prices and an 82% sell-through rate across 42 auctions. The Modern and Contemporary Art department, led by Freddy Battino, generated €16.3 million alone, followed by Antiques (€5.7 million) and Jewelry (€5.3 million). Top lots included Lucio Fontana's "Concetto spaziale, Natura" (1959-60) at €562,500, Alberto Burri's "Combustione" (1957) at €375,000, and Alighiero Boetti's "Insicuro Noncurante" (1975-76) at €375,000. The auction house saw a 20% increase in new bidders, driven by younger generations and international online participation from 15 countries including France, UK, US, China, and UAE. Director Rossella Novarini attributed the success to post-pandemic recovery and digital innovation, including a new website and IlPonteLive portal. The Decorative Arts and Design department earned €2.5 million, while niche sectors like Books & Manuscripts (€1.5 million), Philately (€1.4 million), and Oriental Art (€1 million) also performed strongly.
