Il Maggiore Cultural Centre by Salvador Perez Arroyo Opens in Verbania
Il Maggiore, a versatile cultural hub in Verbania, was inaugurated with a performance by the Berliner Symphoniker and the exhibition 'L'Arte Incontra l'Industria,' overseen by curator Jill Mathis, showcasing pieces from industrialist Bruno Guidi. This centre, designed by Salvador Perez Arroyo and the Stones group, was completed in 2023 at a cost of 18 million euros and has already hosted summer events in its outdoor arena. Nestled by Lake Maggiore, it features four titanium-clad structures and can accommodate up to 2,000 visitors. The main hall has over 500 seats, with a mobile platform system that allows for 900. Upcoming developments include 'Parcheggio che Respira' by Fabrizio Bianchetti, which will offer 156 parking spaces inspired by Patrick Blanc's vertical garden.
