Il canto delle sirene: 30 international artists explore water at Villa Medici

'Il canto delle sirene' (The Song of the Sirens), a collective exhibition at Villa Medici in Rome, has been curated by Caroline Courrioux and Sam Stourdzé. This showcase includes works from thirty artists worldwide, with ten pieces created specifically for the venue, all centered around themes of water and mythical marine beings. Notable pieces comprise blown-glass pearls by Simone Fattal, glass sculptures by Estrid Lutz, prophetic fish by Himali Singh Soin, and shells inscribed with aphorisms by Gäelle Choisne. Yannis Maniatakos exhibits dark paintings of the ocean floor, while Rose-Lynn Fisher presents tear cartographies. Emilija Škarnulyte's video features her as a mermaid. Other contributors include Kusukazu Uraguchi, Madison Bycroft, Dala Nasser, Raffaella Naldi Rossano, Lou Masduraud, Aïsha Snoussi, and Bianca Bondi. The exhibition is ongoing at Villa Medici.
