Iittala and Pokémon team up for 30th anniversary Origo collection
Finnish design house Iittala is collaborating with Pokémon to mark the franchise's 30th anniversary. The capsule collection reinterprets Iittala's 'Origo' tableware line, originally designed by Alfredo Häberli in 1999, with Pikachu-inspired colors and illustrations. Creative director Janni Vepsäläinen, who led Iittala's 2024 rebrand, notes that both Origo and Pokémon debuted in the late 1990s, making the partnership feel like a shared origin. The collection balances pop culture appeal with Iittala's ethos of clarity and durability. It launches on 1 May 2026 in Finland and Japan via selected Iittala stores and iittala.com. Iittala has previously collaborated with Café Kitsuné and Byredo.
