Igorrr's 'Very Noise' Video Is a Surreal 3D Animation Journey

French composer Igorrr (Gautier Serre) has released a new single, 'Very Noise,' ahead of his upcoming album 'Spirituality and Distortion,' set for release on March 27. The track blends breakcore, black metal, IDM, and baroque influences, with nods to Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Venetian Snares, and Mr. Oizo. The accompanying music video, created by the Belgian collective Meat Dept. (brothers Nicolas and Kevin Van Der Meiren), is a surreal 3D animation that premiered in October 2019 at the Festival du Film de La Roche-sur-Yon during the retrospective 'Everything Meat Dept.' at Espace d'art contemporain du Cyel. The video features a monster reminiscent of Godzilla and Akira, unfolding as a stream of consciousness or exquisite corpse, aligning with the 'weird 3D animation' trend seen in works by 3D Cool World, Jon Rafman, and Ed Atkins.
