Iggy Pop's Lou Reed Tribute Video Features Maurizio Cattelan Cover Art
Iggy Pop released a video on March 2, 2020, for his reading of a Lou Reed poem from the 1970s, timed to what would have been Reed's 78th birthday. The track appears on Pop's album Free, released in autumn 2019. The minimalist video shows a close-up of Pop emerging from darkness. Pop told the BBC the poem's relevance to current events struck him. A limited edition of Free (340 copies) with two unreleased tracks and cover art by Maurizio Cattelan will be released on March 7, 2020. Pop and Cattelan will sign copies at Perrotin Gallery in New York that same day.
