IED Roma Students Transform Viewers into Avatars at Bright Festival
So, the Bright Festival in Leipzig, Germany, recently featured an intriguing installation called 'URBAN SECRETS,' created by students from IED Roma Arti Visive. This project explores how technology is everywhere and tackles themes like privacy and digital spying through the concept of a contemporary urban condo. A group of nine students from different disciplines—Media Design, Sound Design, and Graphic Design—worked together on this thesis, using tools such as Touch Designer and motion graphics to turn viewers into avatars experiencing a unique emotional space. They also put together a publication highlighting their work. Notably, 'URBAN SECRETS' was a finalist at the IED Roma Design Awards, which recognize innovative projects from IED Rome. Alice Felloni, a professor and sound designer, guided them and even performed at the festival, which celebrates global digital creativity.
