IED Master's Open Call (un)BOXED Explores Gender in Contemporary Society

The IED Master in Arts Management has launched an international open call titled (un)BOXED, inviting artists to investigate the concept of gender in contemporary society. The initiative follows a June exhibition in Florence, 'This must be us', held at the Robert F. Kennedy International House for Human Rights in collaboration with Palazzo Strozzi, Accademia di Belle Arti, California State University, Fondazione Studio Marangoni, and LABA – Libera Accademia di Belle Arti. That exhibition analyzed collective identities and featured international artists from the USA, China, and Europe. Now based in Rome, the master's students are seeking proposals for performances or installations, with plans for a public workshop. The deadline for submissions is November 11, and the final event will take place on December 13 at Carrozzerie | n.o.t in Testaccio, featuring a collective moment involving the entire neighborhood rather than a traditional exhibition. Alessia Fortunato, a representative of the collective, emphasized the group's diversity and the opportunity for artists to gain local and international visibility.
