IED Florence Students Launch Podcast on Sant'Orsola's Forgotten Women

A three-episode podcast series titled 'Dominae' has been created by students from IED Florence's Master in Museum Education, highlighting the overlooked narratives of women associated with the Sant'Orsola complex in Florence. This initiative complements the exhibition 'The Rose That Grew From Concrete,' which is inspired by a poem by Tupac Shakur and will be displayed in the renovated former convent until January 4, 2026. The exhibition showcases works from fourteen artists, both Italian and international, such as Shubha Taparia, Federico Gori, Marion Flament, Chris Oh, Clara Rivault, and Chiara Bettazzi, who respond to the site's historical significance. Coordinated by Daria Filardo, 'Dominae' utilizes archival materials, personal testimonies, and expert discussions to narrate the experiences of nuns, workers, and refugees. Weekly episodes enhance the visitor experience with an auditory dimension. The Master in Museum Education is a year-long English-language program aimed at training cultural mediators to create educational frameworks for museums and cultural entities.
