Identitalia Exhibition in Rome Celebrates Italian Industrial Heritage
The exhibition 'Identitalia, The Iconic Italian Brands' opened at Palazzo Piacentini in Rome, showcasing 100 historic Italian companies across design, advertising, and hi-tech. Curated by Carlo Martino and Carlo Zurlo, the show coincides with the 140th anniversary of the Italian Patent and Trademark Office. It features archival materials including original drawings, advertisements, and products from brands such as Bialetti (Moka Express, 1933 patent), Fabriano (logo by Carlo Cattaneo, 1971), Aurora (pen model 88 by Marcello Nizzoli, 1947; HASTIL and THESI by Marco Zanuso, 1970, exhibited at MoMA), Alfa Romeo, Brunello Cucinelli, Pirelli, TIM, and RTL 102.5. The exhibition is structured as a day from morning to night, highlighting inventions in transport, food, and technology. Minister Adolfo Urso inaugurated the show, emphasizing Italy's productive identity. A stamp dedicated to the Associazione Marchi Storici d'Italia will be issued in March. The exhibition runs until April 6, 2024, with free entry by reservation.
