Icheon Ceramics Exhibition at Korean Cultural Centre UK Explores Tradition and Community
At the Korean Cultural Centre UK, the exhibition 'Icheon and Beyond: The Space Within Form' showcases the work of 21 master ceramic artisans alongside 6 contemporary artists, delving into the philosophical and material roots of Korean ceramics. Co-curated by Jaemin Cha and Byul.org, the event focuses on Icheon, a UNESCO-recognized Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art located southeast of Seoul. It emphasizes the concept that the essence of a vessel is found in its empty space, highlighting the interplay between traditional masters and emerging artists. Following its reconstruction post-Korean War, Icheon now boasts numerous studios and kilns. The exhibition is open from 5th June 2026, Monday to Friday, 10AM–5:30PM, with free entry. Featured artists include Seyeon Cho, Ingyu Choi, and others.
