ICFF Moves to November Starting in 2027 Under New Ownership

festival-fair · 2026-05-12

The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) has revealed plans to move its annual exhibition from May to November, starting in 2027. Scheduled for November 7–9 at New York's Javits Center, this event will coincide with Boutique Design New York (BDNY), although both will function separately. The decision was made due to an evolving trade show environment characterized by tighter budgets, reduced travel options, and heightened demands on brands and buyers. Brand Directors Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat noted that exhibitors felt the spring fair calendar had become overly congested. The new November date aims to better fit the global design timeline. Furthermore, ICFF is now owned by Emerald Holdings, which was recently acquired by Apollo Global Management, a private equity firm. Apollo plans to merge Emerald with Questex, creating a single entity that will host 160 events annually across related markets. Emerald's valuation in the acquisition was $1.5 billion, and it will transition to a private company. The 2026 ICFF will still occur on May 17 as part of NYCxDESIGN 2026.
