Icelandic and French Authors Collaborate on Crime Novel 'Exil(s) Islandais'
Icelandic writer Eva Björg Ægisdóttir and French author Jérôme Loubry have co-written the novel 'Exil(s) Islandais', a detective story set between Reykjavik and Lyon. The book is part of a series initiated by the Festival Quais du Polar and published by éditions Points. The plot involves a journalist who collapses at a reception at the French embassy in Reykjavik, officially attributed to a fatal allergy. Vera, a prominent Icelandic politician, questions the death of Camille, who claimed to be an old friend of the ambassador. The arrival of Lyon inspector Philippe Dutrieu shifts the investigation. Ægisdóttir, born in 1988, won the Blackbird Award for her debut novel 'Elma' and is a bestselling crime writer in Iceland. Loubry, born in 1976, is known for 'Les Chiens de Détroit' (Prix Plume libre d’Argent 2018) and 'Les Refuges' (Prix Cognac 2019). The novel was translated from Icelandic by Jean-Christophe Salaün.
