Galleria Gaburro in Milan presents 'Whispers from the Red Room,' a solo exhibition of British artist Iain Andrews (born 1974, Manchester). The show features over 30 works created over nearly three years, blending dark fairy-tale atmospheres with theatrical elements. Andrews, a former psychotherapist specializing in child trauma, draws on his clinical experience to explore light and shadow in children's minds. His paintings reference French Rococo artists like Fragonard and Bouchet, as well as Hieronymus Bosch and Disney. A centerpiece is the 'Diorama del Leviatano,' a handmade paper-and-paint theater model developed over ten years, which serves as a source of inspiration for his oil and acrylic canvases with three-dimensional scenic details.
