IΔO: French Psychedelic Explorations at CAPC Bordeaux

The CAPC musée d'art contemporain in Bordeaux presented 'IΔO', an exhibition exploring French psychedelic culture from the late 1960s, running from December 2, 2008, to March 8, 2009. Curated by Yann Chateigné, Axelle Blanc, and Tiphanie Blanc, the show featured a spatial installation by Lily Reynaud Dewar that organized archives, artworks, performances, and projections. Highlights included unreleased films by Pierre Clémenti, light-show slides from 1970s concerts, photographs by Alain Dister, paintings by Olivier Mosset and Frédéric Pardo, foam columns by David Medalla, and archaic arrangements by Martial Raysse. The exhibition opened with a three-day festival featuring thirty historical and contemporary musical acts. The curatorial approach emphasized fragments, echoes, and the memory of the psychedelic journey rather than a definitive narrative.
