Hypothetical Landscapes Group Show at Janet Kurnatowski Gallery
The Janet Kurnatowski Gallery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, is hosting an exhibition titled 'Hypothetical Landscapes' from May 1 to May 31, 2009. Curator Greg Lindquist has assembled works from eight artists, including Miya Ando, Malado Baldwin, and Rebecca Smith. The exhibit investigates the intersection between artificial environments and natural landscapes, prominently featuring grid motifs. Key highlights include Dustin Schuetz’s 'Midnight Audit' and 'View of the Defeated', along with Rebecca Smith’s 'Ross Ice Shelf, Antarctica', and other prominent pieces by Don Gummer and Darina Karpov. This display challenges traditional conceptions of landscape art.
