Hypermaremma 2024: Annual Contemporary Art Event in Maremma

Hypermaremma, the contemporary art event in Maremma, Italy, has become annual after five editions. The 2024 edition, curated by founders Matteo d'Aloja, Giorgio Galotti, Carlo Pratis, and Francesca Caddeu, features site-specific works by artists including Davide Rivalta, Gaetano Pompa, Giulia Mangoni, Mauro Staccioli, Carola Bonfili, and Virginia Overton. The event has won the "Toscana in contemporanea" public tender for the third consecutive year. New developments include a podcast series, special editions of artworks, and a short film by Monkeys Studio shown at the Capalbio Film Festival (September 19–22). Notable permanent works include Giuseppe Ducrot's Fontanile (July 2023) and Virginia Overton's Untitled (Tulip), donated to Orbetello. The event collaborates with Sotheby's, local entities, and ambassadors such as Sigifredo di Canossa, Hannah Gruy, and Giovanna Melandri. The 2024 program includes Rivalta's sculpture on the Feniglia dunes (March 30), Pompa's bronze and canvas exhibition (Easter Monday), Mangoni's performance on Giglio Island (May), Staccioli's three corten pyramids (July 6), and Bonfili's video from MAXXI (September).
