Hunza G's Georgiana Huddart on relaunching the cult swimwear brand

In 2015, Georgiana Huddart reintroduced the swimwear brand Hunza G, which originated from Peter Meadows' 1980s label. The hallmark of the brand is its 'Original Crinkle' fabric, a seamless tubular knit crafted in a family-owned European factory, renowned for its remarkable stretch without losing shape. Huddart's journey began when she stumbled upon vintage Hunza items on eBay and reached out to Meadows for a relaunch that embraced inclusivity, offering a variety of colors to complement different skin tones and body shapes. The brand quickly attracted attention from celebrities like Rihanna and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, as well as everyday consumers. Over the past decade, Hunza G has expanded from a one-person operation to a team of more than 40. Recently, Huddart unveiled a collaboration with Burberry, showcasing Hunza G’s iconic designs accented with Burberry checks in timeless colors. This partnership reflects their mutual commitment to fabric innovation and accessible fashion. Looking to the future, Huddart intends to explore new collaborations and fabric improvements, following the introduction of UV-protective gingham pieces set for 2025, with a focus on durability and long-lasting wear.
