Hu-Be's Scribblitti Mural Transforms Staircase in Albinea

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Italian artist Hu-Be (Emanuele Sferruzza Moszkowicz, born 1982 in Reggio Emilia) has completed a new work from his ongoing Scribblitti series at the headquarters of construction company Zuliani in Albinea, near Reggio Emilia. The project, titled The Privilege of the Spectators and curated by Anna Vittoria Zuliani, turns an anonymous staircase into a permanent black-and-white mural. Using only a black marker on white walls, Hu-Be created an apocalyptic spatial explosion without preliminary drawings, relying on force lines. The composition unfolds in three temporal phases, culminating in floating figures wrapped in sheets that interact energetically in a vortex. The artist, who participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale, addresses themes of debris and spectatorship, suggesting viewers can choose to act rather than passively observe. The work is visible by appointment at Via Vittorio Emanuele II 22, Albinea.
