HPO TECH's ZEUGMA Hyperbaric Chamber: A Design Revolution from Istanbul

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

Istanbul-based HPO TECH, led by CTO and co-founder Tolga Kabak, has reimagined hyperbaric oxygen chambers as human-centered architectural objects. The ZEUGMA chamber, adopted by longevity pioneer Bryan Johnson, features panoramic windows and spacious interiors to combat claustrophobia, making it feel like a space capsule rather than a medical device. Kabak, a mechanical engineering graduate of Trakya University with a master's in hyperbaric chambers, spent years in the industry before questioning the engineering-first orthodoxy. HPO TECH's chambers are used by biohackers, athletes, and hospitals. The company is now developing multi-baric systems (TAMPA project) for research at Arizona State University, where Joseph Dituri's team reached the XPRIZE semifinals. A new prototype, OYSTER, features an oval organic geometry inspired by an oyster shell, with a modular interior for sitting or lying down.
