exhibition · 2026-05-08

The exhibition 'Horst P. Horst. La Geometria della Grazia' at Le Stanze della Fotografia on Venice's San Giorgio Maggiore island is the largest ever dedicated to the 20th-century photographer. It features over 400 works, roughly half of which are exhibited for the first time, including vintage prints, archival materials, preparatory drawings, sketchbooks, and letters from Coco Chanel and Salvador Dalí. The show is organized into eight sections: 'Vogue' examines Horst's impact on the magazine's visual identity alongside Irving Penn and Richard Avedon; 'Bauhaus' explores architectural precision and light; 'Classico e neoclassico' draws on ancient harmony; 'Architettura e mathesis' reflects Le Corbusier's Modulor; 'Patterns from Nature' presents experimental natural studies from 1946; 'Fiori e vanità' focuses on still lifes from the 1950s; 'Ritratti' includes portraits of Cecil Beaton, Ingrid Bergman, Coco Chanel, Salvador Dalí, and Marlene Dietrich. The exhibition runs until July 5, 2026.
