Horst Ademeit's Polaroid Archive of Cold Rays and Daily Life at Hamburger Bahnhof
Between May 13 and September 25, 2011, Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof hosted an exhibition titled 'Horst Ademeit's Secret Universe,' highlighting the Polaroid creations of the late artist. Horst Ademeit, who passed away in July 2010, was a student of Joseph Beuys in 1970, embracing Beuys's philosophy that art permeates every facet of life. He captured everyday objects and aimed to reveal the unseen 'cold rays' and radiation, incorporating handwritten notes from various measurements in his photographs. Initially, his focus was on his surroundings in Cologne and Düsseldorf, but he later turned to neighborhood subjects. In 1990, he began documenting printed media, resulting in 6,006 works, including '5805,' which contrasted newspaper pages with meticulous notes, illustrating his search for order amidst emotional chaos.
