Hood Museum to Mount First Major Asian Art Exhibition in 2027

In 2027, the Hood Museum of Art at Dartmouth will unveil "Asian Art at Dartmouth: Highlights from the Hood Museum of Art," marking its inaugural significant exhibition centered on Asian art. The exhibition, curated by Haely Chang, who serves as the Jane and Raphael Bernstein Associate Curator of East Asian Art, will commence with a reception on January 8, 2027, and will be open to the public from January 9 until November 13, 2027. This showcase will occupy four galleries and will present artworks from East, South, and Southeast Asia, along with pieces from the Himalayas, primarily highlighting creations made before 1950, while also featuring select contemporary works.
