Hong Kong's free art and heritage scene: Tai Kwun, M+, and gallery districts
Despite its costly image, Hong Kong presents a wealth of free cultural activities. Visitors can explore Tai Kwun, a repurposed 1840s police station and prison complex designed by Herzog and de Meuron, which features 18 blocks, including original cells, open for public wandering. Additionally, Sham Shui Po's Apliu Street and specialty streets like Button, Bead, and Toy Streets offer vibrant flea markets.
