Hong Kong Gold Exchange launches joint venture with Alibaba Cloud to build trading platform
Hong Kong Gold Exchange (HKGX) has partnered with TGX Technology to launch HKGXTS, a gold trading and clearing platform. Alibaba Cloud and Hundsun Technologies will provide technology support. HKGXTS chairman Haywood Cheung called the venture a key step for Hong Kong's gold infrastructure. The system, led by CEO Sun Ho, is scheduled for pilot operations in the first quarter of 2027. Initial development will integrate HKGX's existing products, trading, settlement and clearing services, with gold tokenisation to be added later.
