Hong Kong Exhibitions Explore Constraints, Borders, and Cultural Adaptation

exhibition · 2026-04-20

In Hong Kong, Tai Kwun is currently featuring two group exhibitions that will be up until September. The first one, called 'My Body Holds Its Shape,' is available until September 20 and includes works from artists like Tap Chan, Thea Djordjadze, Jason Dodge, Eisa Jocson, and Pratchaya Phinthong. This exhibition explores how limitations can spark creativity. For instance, Jocson's piece 'Zoo' reflects on the lives of Philippine migrant workers, while Phinthong’s 'Fork' uses melted lead from bombs found in Laos. The second exhibition, 'They Do Not Understand Each Other,' runs until September 13 and displays 23 works, including new commissions inspired by Tsubasa Kato's video on a disputed island. Plus, Para Site's 'Garden of Six Seasons' is extended through August 30, showcasing both traditional and contemporary art at Soho House.
