Homemade: Italian Artists' Quarantine Works at Magazzino Italian Art
Magazzino Italian Art, located in the Hudson Valley and established by collectors Giorgio Spanu and Nancy Olnick, initiated a project called Homemade to support eight New York-based Italian artists during the COVID-19 lockdown. From April 1 to May 30, 2020, these artists were commissioned to create works inspired by the pandemic, engaging in virtual meetings that encouraged collaborative creativity. The exhibition, curated by Vittorio Calabrese and Chiara Mannarino, debuted on July 7, 2020, and will be on display until September 7, 2020. This marks the museum's reopening and its inaugural show in a newly redesigned exhibition space, featuring around 30 pieces from artists including Alessandro Teoldi and Maria D. Rapicavoli, blending new works with previous creations.
