Holiday charity art projects by Jonathan Monk, Olimpia Zagnoli, and others
Throughout the holiday season of 2020, various art and design initiatives merged charitable giving with gift-giving. Jonathan Monk, in collaboration with Older and Motelombroso, produced 50 exclusive aprons and shopping bags adorned with "Glow in the dark" embroidery, each priced at €60, with proceeds aiding mensa Fratelli di San Francesco in Milan. This initiative was spearheaded by Alessandra Straccamore and Matteo Mazza, with backing from Associazione Equoevento Lombardia, to provide meals for the homeless. In Turin, Alessia and Ilaria Messuti introduced "Le cose che non sai," selling design items to benefit Associazione Alzheimer Piemonte. Laura Anastasio released a plastic-free Lunario 2021 calendar. Additionally, the virtual band Gorillaz hosted an on-demand concert from December 12-13, 2020, to support live music, while Magicaburla Onlus sold e-cards for clown therapy in Rome.
