Hoda Afshar's First Major Solo Exhibition Tours Australia

The Art Gallery of New South Wales is touring 'Hoda Afshar: A Curve is a Broken Line', the first major solo exhibition by Iranian-born, Melbourne-based photomedia artist Hoda Afshar. The show presents a comprehensive overview of her recent practice, including a newly commissioned series, through photography and film from the past decade. Afshar's work examines the politics of image-making, giving visibility to marginalized subjects and confronting violence through evocation rather than blunt imagery. The exhibition is hosted by UQ Art Museum and features works such as 'Untitled #18 from the series Speak the wind' (2015–22).
