Ho Tzu Nyen, a visual artist and curator from Singapore, has been appointed as the Artistic Director for the upcoming 16th Gwangju Biennale, which is scheduled to commence in September 2026. Primarily engaged in film, video installation, and performance, Ho explores themes surrounding identity formation and historical narratives. His current endeavor, The Critical Dictionary of Southeast Asia, examines the interplay of fact, fiction, and both indigenous and colonial stories that influence the region's contemporary history. Ho has represented Singapore at the Venice Biennale in 2011 and has been involved in several biennales, including the Shanghai Biennale (2014) and Sharjah Biennial 14 (2019).
