Hiva Alizadeh's solo show at Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery explores hair's mystique through colorful sculptures.

At the Tower Bridge location of Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery in London, Hiva Alizadeh unveils his inaugural solo exhibition titled Bare in the Garden. The Iranian artist crafts fluid, head-like sculptures from synthetic hair, meticulously sewn onto wooden structures in a contemplative manner. These vibrant pieces, featuring colors such as electric pink, orange, purple, blue, and dark pink, are arranged throughout the gallery, resembling a tranquil garden that fosters reflection. Alizadeh's work is influenced by the spiritual importance of hair in various cultures, including Hinduism and Zoroastrianism, as well as Persian carpet-making. The exhibition, which invites tactile interaction with the sculptures, creates a serene, ethereal ambiance, encouraging introspection. It will be open until 1 February.
