Historic kiosk in Turin becomes exhibition space for Daria Koltsova's 'Postcards from Home'

During Turin Art Week, a historic kiosk in Piazza San Carlo transforms into an exhibition space hosting 'Postcards from Home', a site-specific intervention by Ukrainian artist Daria Koltsova (born 1987 in Kharkiv). Curated by Valeria Radkevych, the project runs from October 30 to November 6. Koltsova replaces the kiosk's windows with abstract stained-glass panels inspired by Ukrainian landscapes, evoking a world dissolving due to war. The kiosk becomes a metaphor for refuge and a living archive of a threatened culture. Radkevych states the goal is to bring art into daily urban life and offer tourists an artistic encounter. The work follows the mechanism of memory: when one loves a place intensely, details fade but colors, forms, and essence remain. The 'postcards' are fragments of memory of a land at risk of extinction due to Russia's destruction of Ukrainian landscapes. The project is part of a broader trend of Italian kiosks repurposed as cultural spaces, such as Edicò in Rovigo, Giallo Menta in Siena, and Santedicola in Rome.
