Historic Ford-Powered Race Cars Headline Bonhams|Cars Laguna Seca Auction During Monterey Car Week
On August 13, Bonhams|Cars will launch its first-ever Laguna Seca Auction at WeatherTech Raceway during Monterey Car Week. A highlight of the event will be the unique Lola-Ford T70 Mark II CanAm sports-racing car, which was famously driven by the late Dan Gurney. This vehicle achieved a notable win during the second round of the 1967 CanAm Championship at Bridgehampton, Long Island, marking the only time a Ford-powered car won in the entire nine-year history of the CanAm series from 1966 to 1974. Featuring a modified small-block 305 cubic inch V8 engine and a Hewland LG transaxle, the car has been customized by All-American Racers to accommodate Gurney's stature. They are also looking for more consignments for the auction.
