Hilario Isola's 'Il tavolo degli avanzi' Performance in Mondovì

On June 23, 2019, Hilario Isola, born in 1976 in Turin, presented his performance 'Il tavolo degli avanzi' in Mondovì's Piazza Maggiore, located in the Cuneo province. This project, which had previously been showcased at Vienna's Konzerthaus and Marseille's La Friche, addresses the issue of food waste by utilizing unsellable or overripe fruits and vegetables sourced from local markets. A collective of seventeen Piedmontese artists—including Valerio Berruti, Lula Broglio, and Pieter Vermeersch—convened at a central table to decorate raw ceramic plates with the discarded produce. Beginning August 14, 2019, these creations will be on display at the Museo della Ceramica di Mondovì, alongside a video capturing the performance, promoting awareness of waste and encouraging a return to traditional values regarding consumption.
