Highline Milano: panoramic walkway atop Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to open in 2026

Tickets for Highline Milano, the project restoring public access to the entire Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, went on sale in December 2025. The panoramic route and historic fourth-floor spaces, closed since 2019, will reopen on February 6, 2026, after a restoration led by a team of professionals under 35. The project, won by Duomo 21 S.r.l. in a municipal tender, includes a new Sala degli Orologi featuring a 1932 clock mechanism that once regulated Milan's square clocks, now transformed into a cultural space. Its inaugural exhibition, 'Il cuore di Milano tra passato, presente e futuro,' curated by Flavio Di Renzo, presents over 60 historical images from major city archives. The renovated Skywalk, a suspended walkway at 40 meters, now includes Clouds panoramic terraces with green areas and textile installations. Highline Milano is guided by a young team: Matteo Occhipinti and Franck Pascal as project heads, Camilla Rivieri as general director, and Flavio Di Renzo as artistic director and curator. The project emphasizes three values: new generations, territoriality, and sustainability, integrating eco-designed solutions, hanging green spaces, and solar panels.
