High Line Plinth Announces 12 Shortlisted Artists for Fifth and Sixth Commissions

So, the High Line in New York just revealed the 12 artists who made the shortlist for its Plinth Commission's fifth and sixth rounds. Out of 56 entries, they picked artists like Dana Awartani, Leilah Babirye, Natalie Ball, and several others. You can check out their models at the High Line’s Coach Passage from March 19 through June. Cecilia Alemani, who is the director and chief curator there, mentioned that these proposals really show how public art can connect with history, nature, and the community. The final pieces will be installed in Spring 2026 and Fall 2027.
