High Line and Rubin Museum Launch Meditation Series Around Nguyen Sculpture
The Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art and the High Line are partnering for a free monthly lecture and guided meditation series from May through October 2026, inspired by Tuan Andrew Nguyen's High Line Plinth artwork 'The Light That Shines Through the Universe' at 30th Street and 10th Avenue. Hosted by Tashi Chödrön, the series blends intellectual and contemplative practice. Sessions include a lecture by a scholar, artist, or cultural leader followed by a guided meditation. The June 13 session features a lecture by Tashi Chödrön on Buddhist mudras and a meditation led by Steve Clorfeine. July 11 features Lama Justin von Bujdoss on ritual and grief, with meditation by Jungwon Kim. August 5 features Jin Xu on the Bamiyan Buddha and trade routes, with meditation by Jessica Angima. October 10 features Donald S. Lopez on light in Buddhist thought, with meditation by Jungwon Kim. The series closes with Nico Rodriguez from Monuments Lab discussing contemporary memorialization, with meditation by Steve Clorfeine.
